I'm stupid. Or tired. Or both.

What was the name of the Burlesque act we saw Friday night?

I'm remembering something about cats or vixens, but I could just be confused...

Apr. 30th, 2008 @ 02:17 pm Costume-Con 26 and Flickr: Spread the word!
The photo workflow office is back in Orange County, and is still working like mad to process the over 20,000 pictures that volunteers shot and turned in. It's going to take a few days for these to get uploaded.

But don't wait! There's hope!

If you're a Flickr member, and you shot photos at Costume-Con 26, please consider adding your convention sets to the Costume-Con 26 group photo pool. We've already got two members who have added their sets, but we would love to see more.

Apr. 30th, 2008 @ 01:57 pm Post Costume-Con 26: Alive. At home. We did it!
I'm very proud of all the people who worked so very hard to make my vision for CC26 a reality.

876* people came to play, and I think most of them left happy. That makes us the second largest Costume-Con in its 26-year history.

We weren't perfect, we made some mistakes, but I think we also learned from them. All the planning in the world will not eliminate the need for a giant dollop of "wing-it" at an event like this, and I appreciate the attendees' patience and forbearance when those glitches turned up.

The hotel liked us. A lot. They also took copious notes yesterday when we passed on folks' complaints.

I'll write a longer post later when I have a working brain. The daily 'zine and competition participants and awards will be posted soon; I have the data right here but don't want to risk mangling it in a post right now.

Thanks for coming out to play with us.

Kevin

*Pending final audit. The members have gone home, but we still have to do our final accounting and pay the bills.

Apr. 29th, 2008 @ 02:43 pm Photos?
So now that it's all over...

Who has photos posted, and where do I go look for them? I've found a few on flickr, but I know there's more.

And did anybody get video of the sci-fi masquerade? (I mean other than the official video, which I bought.) And will any of it be up on youtube or similar? I'd like to be able to link my friends to video of my costume in motion, if possible.

Thanks!

Apr. 23rd, 2008 @ 01:22 am X-post: hotel roommate or roomates for CC26
Hi.

I have a reservation for a room in the Doubletree hotel for CC26, and yesterday 2 of my roommates had to bail on me.

I already have a few one-nighters for various nights, but I still have space for 1 steady roommate for Fri, Sat, Sun or for other 1 or 2 night stays.  let me know what you need, I may be able to work it out.

I know this is really last minute, but I thought I had it all worked out.  Oh well........ we work with what we got.

I'll check back here, of course, but you can email me if you're interested:  eofa2 (at) yahoo.com

thanks very much.................   Cynthia Hussey

Hi, all!

I need to give the house a "final" number by the 21st. If you haven't already heard from me and you're planning to go or you need to drop out, please drop me a line offlist and let me know ASAP (prepayment not required), so I can include your head(s) in the count. Deciding after the 21st will increase your entry fee (you won't get the full discount but you will get to tag along with us).

Mar. 29th, 2008 @ 10:22 pm Winchester Mystery House - the complete details (I think)...
Current Mood: tiredtired
Right!

So, I think I have all the major details now. Here's the scoop!

1. Cost per person: $22 US.

2. You can pay me in advance by sending a payment to me through PayPal without costing either of us any fees. You'll need to process the payment to "my-lj-username@gmail.com" and you should indicate in a comment somewhere who you're paying for, especially if you're paying for more than one person at a time (since I'll only have an email address, I think). Please do not use a credit card for payment, or please add $1.00 to cover charges.

3. I need to be onsite to process the payment at least 15 minutes in advance. I'm going to aim to be there by 2:30pm, which likely means leaving the hotel at 2pm just to be sure.

4. Our Mansion tour starts at 3pm. The Behind the Scenes tour begins at 4:15pm.

5. The ticket prices are for adults only. So far as I know, no children are going on this tour with us.

6. April 20 is the deadline for your commitment to going on the tour, whether paid in advance or not. If you plan to pay in advance, I MUST receive your payment no later than April 22. Otherwise, please plan to bring $22 cash for each person you're covering.

My cell is 301-922-1865 and I'll have the phone with me when I get to CA, so please don't hesitate to call me if you need to make last-minute arrangements. I arrive in the vicinity of 12:30pm on the 24th.

Other questions? Please comment and I'll respond as needed!

Thanks!
